WHAT ARE RAW CACAO NIBS.
Cacao nibs are small pieces of crushed cacao beans that have a bitter, chocolatey flavor. They are made from the beans of the cacao tree. Cacao beans are dried after harvesting, then fermented and cracked to produce small, dark bits or cacao nibs. Unroasted cacao nibs are called raw cacao nibs. (Roasting is for choloate production. It helps separate the outer husk from the inner bean and makes cracking and winnowing easier. It also sterilizes the product, and enhances the flavour but reduces the antioxidant benefits).
The rich, raw chocolatey nibs however, are loaded with nutrients and powerful plant compounds that have been shown to benefit health in several ways.
Cacao is naturally low in sugar. It has a strong slightly bitter chocolaty taste and goes well as an additive to many foods including smoothies and Acai bowl.

HOW TO USE BOOST NUTRIENTS RAW CACAO POWDER.
Raw Cacao Nibs have a strong and slightly bitter taste so its not easy to enjoy it on its own. We believe its best to regularly consume it as an ingredient in other products that cover its taste. One sure and simple way is to sprinkle it into a smoothie. Either a smoothie drink or a smoothie bowl. It also goes very well in an Acai bowl or granola bowl breakfast.
Some research says that dairy products inhibit the absorption of antioxidants from raw cacao. So if you’re making a cacao smoothie you’re better off using a non-dairy milk, like almond milk or coconut milk in order to gain all of the antioxidant benefits.
GLUTEN FREE STATUS.
There is no gluten in the cacao pods from which Raw Cacao Nibs are derived. So, unless a gluten containing ingredient is added (or contamination occurs from packing equpment also used for gluten containing products), Raw Cacao Nibs are gluten-free and safe for celiacs to use in baking and for other food preparation.
Boost Nutrient's Raw Cacao Nibs have a long shelf life if correctly stored. They are packed in resealable bags. We recommend to store all unopened packs in a cool dry place. After opening it is best to push the air out of the packet before re-sealing the bag cafefully with its zip lock. Never leave bags opened as the ingredients can absorb moisture from the air.
